We look forward to seeing you all at our FREE Mother-Daughter run/walk this Saturday hosted by TransFit and Lululemon! Bring your mother, daughter, aunt, niece, or friend and join us for a great morning of exercise and giveaways as we celebrate the amazing woman you are! This event is for ALL women!

In honor of Mother’s Day, we are highlighting our incredible TransFit Mother-Daughter duos! We love being able to give encouragement through our amazing Transfit clients!

Cindy, Cynthia, Elizabeth, and Emory

“I’m so thankful that all the women in my family are so health conscious and involved in sports and fitness. However, I’m mostly thankful that we all have all been transformed by Christ’s grace and mercy. All of these passions bind us together and similarly to Transfit as well. I love the ‘family feeling’ at Transfit and I try to make it to TransFit at least two days per week. I love seeing so many mothers and daughters there. I was so impressed one day when a young lady and I were side by side on the bike and she turned to me, asking if I wanted to do some challenge exercises with her on the bike. She was so sweet and taught me new bike workouts. Each and every TransFit workout leaves me more energized both physically and spiritually.” -Cindy

We absolutely LOVE this family full of TransFit ladies!

Cara and Maddie Lacy

“I started working out with Caroline long ago in the early days of TransFit, when it was a small group of hard-working ladies, sweating it out in her basement. From my very first workout, I was immediately drawn to her encouraging, faithful spirit and loved the renewed energy I had after each workout— despite being absolutely exhausted at the same time! Regularly scheduled workouts with Caroline keep me feeling stronger, eating better, and provide more mental clarity. When I read about TransFit girls, I knew I wanted that same uplifting and transformative healthy mindset for my daughters. Maddie was so excited to finally be old enough this year! We are both challenged with some muscle and joint laxity which makes it so incredibly important to keep our bodies strong. Maddie has absolutely loved working out in the studio and thrives in such a supportive and encouraging environment. I love that she has an additional influence in her life delivering the same messages we do about staying healthy and strong. (Somehow, I think she hears Corinn better than she listens to me!) Thank you to Caroline, Katie, Corinn and the entire TransFit team for helping us be the very best version of ourselves. We are forever grateful for your influence in our lives!” -Cara

Katie and Kara Woodall

“Kara and I are stronger together! For us, living transformed is taking action every day towards being our best selves and continually transforming body, mind and spirit! By setting goals, big or small; by choosing to never give up, but instead, choosing to work harder, study more, and practice more. We both try to step out of our comfort zones — making new friends, trying something new like an activity or club, or even new foods and exercises. Though we are both far from perfect, we strive for progress as we live transformed every day… together!” -Katie

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Revive Your Breakfast for Spring! 🍳🌸

If I took a poll of our readers, friends, and family what percent of them do you think would call themselves “morning people?” It’s becoming a rarity these days to find those who wake up easily in the mornings, love to arise with the sun and get moving in preparation for the day ahead!  One word: BREAKFASTEveryone may know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but that, unfortunately, does not mean that everyone takes the time to sit down to a solid meal before jetting off to work or school. According to the NPD Group, approximately 31 MILLION Americans skip breakfast. The same survey also found that many males ages 18-34 as well as teenagers (as opposed to younger children) do not eat breakfast. Women ages 55 and older were the most likely to eat a morning meal. What were the common reasons for skipping? People weren’t hungry, they didn’t feel like eating, or they were too busy or running late.

Despite whether you are hungry or not, busy or not, you NEED to make time for eating breakfast. Breakfast consumption can increase the feeling of fullness, and high-protein breakfasts can help regulate appetite throughout the day. Breakfast is also good for your overall mood, metabolism, and overall health.

Kick-start your day with some new Spring recipes below! These are simple to prepare the day of, or, if you still think you will be rushed in the morning, these can easily be prepared the night or weekend before! You are worth a few extra minutes to have breakfast!

Don’t stop, however, at simply eating breakfast. The morning meal is the perfect opportunity to insert some family time and inspiration into your day. A wonderful tradition to start with your kids is to do a simple devotional or bible verse first thing in the morning. It not only gets your kids’ minds jump-started, but it also has them (and YOU) putting your mind and focus on important things first thing in the morning. You can even stick those bible verses or quotes into your little ones’ or loved one's lunchboxes!

Here are some of our favorite breakfast recipes you can add to your mornings!

Kickstart Your Summer with New Healthy Recipes!

Sweet friends,

With school coming to an end, summer is about to begin! Being a busy lady, we all know how difficult it can be to prepare, in advance, healthy meals and snacks! I have found that involving the children in the grocery shopping, prepping, and baking helps them to learn and to enjoy eating healthy! Try letting them choose dinner one night (setting some parameters) and let them participate in the cooking! Getting the kids involved in the preparation of meal time is a great way to involve the whole family, while still eating healthy! Just like with everyday life, preparation is key! Planning ahead can help you reach your nutrition goals and help you  achieve your body, mind, and spirit transformation!

Today, we want to share two great recipes you can try this week! Special thanks to amazing client and friend Katie Throne for the delicious Kale Salad Recipe!

Summer Kale Ginger Salad

  • 2 bunches Kale
  • Red cabbage  or broccoli slaw
  • Broccoli or Vegetable Stir Fry
  • Braggs Liquid Aminos
  • Minced Garlic
  • Optional- Salmon or Grilled chicken for protein

Chop kale, red cabbage, broccoli and fill gallon bag with your favorite greens. Mix about 1/2 bottle Makoto ginger dressing with 1/2 Tbsp liquid aminos,  and 1/2 tbsp minced garlic and mix and pour into bag and shake it all up. Refrigerate and let it marinate! Keeps getting better with time! If it's easier, you could probably just use that dressing if you don't have the other ingredients on hand! Pour onto plate and top with your favorite protien of choice!

Chocolate Heaven Smoothie

Makes one serving

  • ½ cup crushed ice
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
  • 1 small frozen ripe banana
  • 1 serving Chocolate protein powder (Vega)
  • ¼ of an avocado
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa (I like Hershey’s Special Dark- 100% cacao)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • **1 teaspoon honey or a few drops of stevia (optional)
  • **can add in 1 tsp vanilla extract

Pulse ice cubes in blender to crush. Add almond milk, banana, cocoa, and other ingredients and blend until frothy. Serve immediately and enjoy some liquid energy!

The Chia seed helps keep the smoothie dense and satisfying, all while helping to increase your energy and endurance; promote your hydration and electrolyte balance; lower your blood pressure; regulate your blood sugar levels; and support your weight loss by keeping you feeling full longer.

Go on, and try something new TODAY! Your tastebuds and your heart with thank you! For more recipes, you can go on our FREE app or to our website under the TRANSFORM tab! If you have any questions or would like to meet with one of our nutrition consultants, please email us at transfitathens@gmail.com.

Blessings,
